De Europese Unie willen voorlieden en regeringsleiders abortus tot een recht maken, hoewel de EU daar officieel niet de bevoegdheid voor heeft. Op verschillende andere onderwerpen die te maken hebben met relaties en seksualiteit dringt men aan op een liberalere koers. Op 24 april was er daarom een speciale Mars voor het Leven in Brussel, waar een kleine vertegenwoordiging van Kies Leven onder de vlag van One of Us in meeliep.

Vanuit ons land wordt de pro-abortus trom geroerd in Europa. Verschillende politieke partijen lobbyen daarvoor. Een organisatie als Women on Web, onder leiding van Rebecca Gomperts, grijpt elke gebeurtenis daartoe aan.

De herkozen president van Frankrijk, Macron, is een van de grote promotors van abortus in Europa. Hij wil abortus als mensenrecht opnemen in het Handvest van de Grondrechten van de Europese Unie (erger kan dus niet), zodat ze Polen, Hongarije en Malta ook kunnen opleggen om abortus te legaliseren. En dat in landen waar abortus al gelegaliseerd is het nog moeilijker wordt om dit in te perken. Daarom is er als vervolg op bovengenoemde Mars een bijeenkomst op 7 mei, eveneens in Brussel, om daar stelling tegen te nemen. In the European Union, too, pastors and heads of government want to make abortion a right, although the EU does not officially have the authority to do so. On several other issues related to relationships and sexuality, people are pushing for a more liberal course. From our country, the pro-abortion drum is being beaten in Europe. Several political parties are lobbying for it. An organization like Women on Web, led by Rebecca Gomperts, seizes every event to do so.

The re-elected president of France, Macron, is one of the major promoters of abortion in Europe. He wants to include abortion as a human right in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (so it can't get any worse), so they can also impose Poland, Hungary and Malta to legalize abortion. And that in countries where abortion is already legalized it will be even more difficult to restrict it. Therefore, as a follow-up to the above-mentioned March, there will be a meeting on May 7, also in Brussels, to take a stand against this. Pray for this and participate if possible, so that a powerful voice of opposition will penetrate the Euro-parliament and the heads of government.
