The Paradise
Let's get started right away. We turn to the Bible at Genesis 1. Already on the first page it says that everything God created was good.
(Genesis 1:12) And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
(Genesis 1:21) And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
(Genesis 1:31a) And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

All children have seen picture books of paradise, one more beautiful than the other. Wonderful. And when today we see the fullness of flowers and plants, the birds and the fish in all their beauty, we see in them the great wonders of nature. The more man tries to find out how it is all made, the more miracles he encounters. We recently have experienced another of God’s miracles in the birth of our first great-grandchild, Ian. What is a greater miracle than the birth of a human child? We are lost for words. David says in Psalm 139 that God has woven him in his mother's womb. (vs 13) God even says of the calling of Jeremiah, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremia 1:5)

God is our Creator
So the way we are here together, we are all created by God, like all other people. Just listen to Psalm 139:16a – Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, … And verse 17 – How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! God's plan for us is a wonderful plan — He created us to live forever! But already in Genesis 3, the devil sees an opportunity to mislead man who was created by God. The fall is the result. Now sin and death have entered mankind and the world. God puts man out of paradise. But at the same time, God is announcing His counter-offensive to restore paradise. Read Genesis 3:14-16. How recognizable the fall is because good and evil have been fighting in the lives of each of us ever since. The first murder already takes place among the children of Adam and Eve, when Cain kills his brother Abel. God says to Cain, Genesis 4:10b – the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. And after the flood, God says to Noah in Genesis 9:6 – Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

God hates the shedding of innocent blood
That's the thread throughout the Bible: God hates the shedding of innocent blood and that blood will be avenged. With His own hand God has written the Ten Commandments on two tables of stone. He did that twice. It says there emphatically: Thou shalt not kill. God instructed Israel to abide by this rule if they were to be blessed. See Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 9 and 10. But again and again they did not keep His commandments, and the LORD had to come with His punishments. God is a gracious and holy God. His intentions towards us are good, but He will not be mocked. Again and again He calls us to repent and humble ourselves and pray that God will have mercy and send His blesing. See, for example, 2 Chronicles 7:12-14 – And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.  If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. In Deuteronomy 28-30 God holds before the people the blessing and the curse. He emphatically says that His commandments are not difficult: they are in your heart (Deuteronomy 30: 11-14). God holds before us the BLESSING and the CURSE, the LIFE and the DEATH. In verse 19b it says – therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed (you and your children) may live.

Child sacrifices to the Molech
We have seen that God hates the shedding of innocent blood and will avenge that blood. This certainly applies to the pagan custom of the bringing of child sacrifices. These sacrifices were made to gain prosperity. When the Israelites conquered Canaan, they were clearly ordered to exterminate the Gentile nations and their idols. Israel has not fully done this. We later see that king Solomon, though greatly blessed of God, was tempted by his pagan wives to offer child sacrifices to the idol Molech. 1 Kings 11:7 – Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
God's punishment is that Israel is split into ten and two tribes, who then often go to war with each other. God had warned them many times. They knew that God hates the shedding of innocent blood and that He will not leave it unpunished!
God instructs the prophet Jeremiah to call on the spiritual leaders of the people to stop the Molech idolatry or else they will be taken into captivity (Jeremiah 7:30-34).
In Jeremiah 19, God commands Jeremiah to smash a potter's jar in the valley of Ben Hinnom, where Molech idolatry takes place. This is the sign that Jerusalem will be destroyed and many of the inhabitants will be killed for sacrificing their children to Molech. God says in verses 5 and 6 – They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind: Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.
The people do not want to listen and take Jeremiah prisoner. But God comes with His judgment. They go into captivity for seventy years (Jeremiah 25). In Jeremiah 52:13 we read that Jerusalem and the temple are destroyed and the people are taken to Babylon. After seventy years, king Cyrus gives them permission to return and rebuild Jerusalem and the temple (Daniel 9, Ezra and Nehemiah).
God had wanted to bless them and therefore called them to choose life and not death (Deuteronomy 30:10-20). What happens to you when you shed the innocent blood of children is terrible.

Termination of pregnancy Act
On December 18, 1980, my wife and I were seated in the public gallery of the Lower House in The Hague. Much to our astonishment, it was decided to adopt the Abortion Law. In the future, unborn children should be killed up to the age of 24 weeks. Since then, more than one and a half million children have been murdered in our country and more than one and a half billion worldwide. Every day, 125,000 children are added.
As in Jeremiah's time, we are called to stop abortion if we want to escape the judgment of God. Mother Teresa, upon receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, said that “the greatest destroyer of peace today is the cry of the innocent unborn child. For if a mother can murder her own child in her own womb, what is left for you and for me to kill each other?” (https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/peace/1979/teresa/26200-mother-teresa-acceptance-speech-1979/)

God says that innocent blood that is shed, like the blood of Abel, cries from the face of the earth and will be avenged. Luke 11:51 – From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
Hebrews 11:4 – By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Hebrews 12:24 – And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Redemption only through grace, through the blood of Jesus
John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Hebrews 12:22-29 – But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,  And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.  See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:  For our God is a consuming fire.

God is carrying out His plan of restoring paradise
Revelation 5:8-14 – And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.  And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;  Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.  And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

The shedding of innocent blood avenged
All the innocent blood shed beginning with Abel, including the innocent shed blood of the unborn, will be avenged.
Revelation 6:9-11 – And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Curses of Corona and abortion in the endtimes
At the beginning of March 2020, the Corona virus entered the world from laboratory in Wuhan in China. The world has not been the same since then. A fear of infection has gripped the world. Authorities are taking steps to contain the pandemic. Wash hands, don't shake hands, five feet away, no gatherings, maximum six people on your birthday! Work is in progress on a vaccine. The Bible speaks that judgments follow sin. And sin reigns in the world and in all of us. Where mutual love disappears, the blessing of God also disappears. That goes without saying and everyone can understand and experience it. The Corona explosion is not part of the blessing of God. What does God have to say to us? Messiah Jesus says in Matthew 24 and also in His revelation to John in the last book of the Bible, that disasters will strike us in judgment for our rejection and sins against God (Matthew 24:7b – and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places). We read in Deuteronomy 28 a long list of God's blessing on obedience and an even longer list of curses that come upon us when we serve not Him but the idols. In Deuteronomy 30:19b we are admonished, Then choose life, that you may live, you and your posterity, ... God sends prophets over and over again to warn His people of judgment, but they don't repent. Read the Bible to see how the judgments on Israel have come to this day, including in Jeremiah 7 and 19. Today, besides Corona, the abortion pandemic is also raging across the world. With every heartbeat, a child is killed in the womb. Worldwide, more than 1.5 billion unborn children have already been killed (numberofabortions.com). God says in Genesis 9:6 – Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And that judgment will come when God will avenge all the innocent blood that has been shed throughout the ages. That will happen on the day of judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). You can see the Corona eruption as yet another call to stop abortion. But just as people did not repent after the judgments of God, so they do not repent today. With the aggressive abortion lobby worldwide, we see no signs of repentance and conversion. All these end-time phenomena have been foretold by the prophets. It all goes to the end. And the end is that the devil and his henchmen will lose. They will be destroyed and paradise restored. It will go through a brutal (final) battle, but he who endures to the end will be saved, Jesus says (Matthew 10:22 and 24:12). And in Revelation 22:7 He says, Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Victory is certain and that day will come like a thief in the night. Be prepared. What a day that will be!

Babylon falls in one hour
Revelation 18:1-3 – And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Hallelujah!
Revelation 19:6-8 – And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The New Jerusalem
Revelation 21:1-5a – And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

Paradise restored
Revelation 22:1-6 – And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.  And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Revelation 22:7 – Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Deuteronomy 30:19 – I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

AMEN
